Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle

Congratulations Team CCO! We are grateful to all our wonderful team members who participated in the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle! Together the 11 members that ran the Shuffle raised over $3,500 to help alleviate homelessness in Chicago!

Nearly half of the team are adolescents who volunteer at CCO wrapping and delivering birthday gifts and treats to children living in the shelter. We are proud of their example to others and compassionate dedication to homeless children!

Five Residents Employed!

Congratulations to four of our shelter guests who became employed last week! Each of the individuals live in one of CCO’s family shelters. Case managers and interns worked together to create these opportunities for employment. Congratulations!

CCO’s case-management staff strive to treat each of our residents with dignity and respect while guiding clients towards stability. Residents of CCO’s programs receive assistance with practical matters such as resume writing, job referrals, and housing referrals as well as guidance as they build new lives for themselves and their families. This assistance may be simple: help regaining lost identification or a bus card to take them to a job interview. Sometimes the help our families and individuals need is more complex: resolving conflict within their family or with other residents, assistance with budgeting skills, and referrals for the treatment of addiction or mental illness. Our staff make every effort to meet the needs of our residents and provide them with opportunities for growth and a new start.
