About Us
Cornerstone Community Outreach was founded in 1989 by the long-standing
church mission, Jesus People USA
Evangelical Covenant Church. With the assistance of the City
of Chicago, CCO purchased and rehabilitated what is now the CCO
Shelter. The building accommodates a large kitchen and dining
area, and a large dormitory for women and children. A one-million
dollar renovation furnished us with the daycare center, the three
intact families rooms, the adolescent boys dorm, new bathroom
facilities with showers, the laundry room, and recreational facilities
Mission Statement
Cornerstone Community Outreach (CCO), a non-profit organization,
was created in 1989 to raise the quality of life for low-income
residents of the United States and the rest of the world through
social, educational and economic development programs that include:
development & preservation of decent & affordable housing
for the poor, job training & creation, educational & social
programs, and feeding & sheltering the homeless.
Since Spring of 2002, CCO has began expanding internationally
with the adoption of the Osana
Foundation, a Romanian NGO, dedicated to the same mission
as CCO. We look forward to new colaborations with Osana and otherorganizations
with a like mission.
