Living in the Chicago-area? Join us for the Hunger Walk!

Hunger Walk Awareness Ad

If you live in the Chicago area we would like to invite you to join us for the 27th Annual Greater Chicago Food Depository Hunger Walk. The event will take place on Saturday, June 23 at Soldier Field in beautiful downtown Chicago. The 3.2 mile walk  will be fun for the whole family. Bring your children and take a beautiful stroll around Chicago’s lakefront while supporting a good cause. For each walker that registers for the Hunger Walk on behalf of Cornerstone Community Outreach (CCO) the Food Depot will give our shelter 214 pounds of food! That is a lot of food and it would go directly to hungry people.

Hundreds of our homeless residents are fed each day in CCO’s dining room. It is crucial that they have nutritious meals available to them as they try to stabilize their lives. In addition to that, every Wednesday over 200 households receive essential groceries to take to their apartment. Every Saturday we serve over 250 hot meal in our Dinner Guest program to anyone in need. Many of our neighbors have to choose between getting food or paying rent. Our food programs allow them maintain the housing that they have.

We would love to have you join our team of CCO staff and volunteers on what is sure it be a fun-filled day! For more information e-mail Beth at bnicholls@ccolife.org. Thanks!
